EXPERIENCE LABRADOR!
Labrador
is the mainland portion of Newfoundland, Canada's most
north-eastern province. It's a huge wild land where the air
is pure and the waters are clean and sweet. It is home to
the Eastern Brook Trout alias brookie, squaretail, speckled
trout, etc. If you're one who has dreamed of fly fishing for brook
trout in a place where they are measured in pounds not
inches then you deserve a trip to Osprey Lake. It's one of
the last frontiers of the 6, 7, 8 pound brook trout.
Osprey Lake continues
to be the finest fly fishing for trophy Brook Trout anywhere
in the world. Trout in this watershed will average over 5
lbs. and many fish 7 lbs. to 11 lbs. are landed each year.
The largest brookie landed was in 1996 by Lee Bennett and
weighed 11 lbs. 3 oz. Within the first month of the 2007
season, six trout were landed over 10 lbs. and two over 11
lbs.
Restricted-Use Sport
Fishing Laws of Newfoundland and Labrador restrict the Eagle
River Chain of Lakes within a 5-mile radius to the use of
the select handful of anglers who choose Osprey Lake Lodge
as their outfitter. This guarantees you an exclusive and
relaxed fishing experience in a wilderness area where you
will not be competing for choice spots with anglers from
other fly-in outfitters.
